According to Public Relations and International Affairs of Qeshm Free Zone Organization, In this message, Hamid Reza Momeni mentioned the Persian Gulf as an integral part of Iran's territory and emphasized on the protection of the political, historical and environmental authority of this waterway.
The full text of this message is as follows:
The Persian Gulf has always had a special and prominent place in the treasure of culture and history of our dear country.
Watching the azure waters of the Persian Gulf and hearing the pleasant sound of its roaring waves, along with the wonders of the underwater world of this sea, has always inspired Iranian poets, writers and artists to create original and lasting literary and artistic works, and the name of the Persian Gulf in these works has been a symbol of the beauty and peace of Iranians.
The special prominence of the name of the Persian Gulf in the documents and historical images available in domestic libraries and museums and prestigious international scientific centers, indicates the fact that this sea has always been associated with the name of Iran in history.
Despite of that about 400 years ago, the Iranians drove out the colonists out of the islands of Hormuz and Qeshm in the Persian Gulf, and clearing this sea of the existence of colonial forces, but at times in history, especially after the Islamic Revolution of Iran, some new colonialists tried to erase the Persian identity of the Persian Gulf from the public mind by forging titles, which, of course, never went anywhere.
The connection between the people of Iran and, of course, the people of the southern provinces, including Hormozgan, and especially the inhabitants of the Persian Gulf islands, is eternal with this sea, and this connection is not only geographical but also is cultural, environmental and especially economic and livelihood.
Obviously, the people who have lived with this sea for generations, have benefited from its blessings, and have endured its hardships, will never turn away from it. At a time in history when the enemies were trying to seize the country's territory and use this waterway to infiltrate Iran, these people sacrificed their children to defend the independence and territorial integrity of their country.
Even today, when the Persian Gulf has become a scene for foreigners and the great powers are using this sea to put pressure on our country to protect their illegitimate interests, the Iranian people, especially the armed forces, will protect the Persian Gulf and not allow a foreigner to think about achieving his illegitimate interests in this land.
The Free Zone Organization, besides the Persian Gulf on Qeshm Island, has a serious mission to develop the island and expand trade and exports to our beloved country, both in the form of its official mission to protect the environment, seashores and aquatic plants and animals, and in the form of its intrinsic, religious and national duty to protect the political and strategic position of this sea, it has made every effort to avoid the slightest damage to the name of the Persian Gulf.
I commemorate the names and memories of all heroic Iranians, especially Imam Qoli Khan, the great Iranian general and his allies who drove the colonial troops out of the Persian Gulf, as well as the martyrs who sacrificed their lives to defend the greatness of the Persian Gulf.
I congratulate the Persian Gulf national day to the people of Iran, especially the heroic people of Qeshm Island, as the historical guardians of the Persian Gulf, and I ask God for their pride.
Hamid Reza Momeni
The Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of the Qeshm Free Zone Organization
